CITY OF THOMASVILLE IMPLEMENTS GRANT FUNDS FROM WILLIAMS FAMILY FOUNDATION

A grant from the Williams Family Foundation was implemented this week through the purchase and installation of 24 historic plaques in the 200 block of West Jackson Street. This project completion caps off the City of Thomasville’s final phase to commemorate the history of this historic district. The City of Thomasville’s West Jackson Streetscape Project has been honored with yet another statewide award. CITY OF THOMASVILLE TO HOLD RIBBON CUTTING FOR WEST JACKSON STREETSCAPE PROJECT COMPLETION

After seven months of construction, years of planning and over 15 public engagement sessions, the West Jackson Streetscape project is nearing completion. To celebrate, the City of Thomasville will hold a West Jackson Streetscape Project ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, November 15th at 9:15AM. ROAD CLOSURE SCHEDULED FOR NORTH SIDE OF WEST JACKSON STREET BETWEEN STEVENS STREET AND REMINGTON AVENUE

The 300 block of West Jackson Street will be closed beginning November 5th at 7:00 a.m. from North Stevens Street to Remington Avenue while road construction and installation of a median are completed. Businesses will remain open and have front-door access for custmers. The road closure is expected to last approximately one and one-half weeks. City of Thomasville Utility crews will begin work along West Jackson Street beginning Saturday, August 31st at 5:00 am.
